Aim: Outcome of Proximal Fibular Osteotomy in isolated medial compartment Osteoarthritis of Knee.
Material and Methods: The present study was conducted in the department of Orthopedics Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Bhagalpur from july 2018 to jan 2019. 36 patients amounting to 50 knee joints (male and female between 40-60 years age group) with medial compartment OA Knee were recruited. Medial joint spaces along-with visual analogue score for pain were recorded pre-operative, immediate post-operative and at final follow up.
Result: Significant improvement in mean visual analogue pain score (VAS), from 7.02 preoperative to 3.39 at the final follow up was observed (p-value <0.001). Medial joint space opening from 1.01 to 4.11 at final follow up was observed.
Conclusion: The objectives as well as functional outcome after proximal fibular osteotomy were satisfactory.
